Our Story

The idea for Loubou was born in March 2023 out of love for my dog, Louie, and the constant challenge I faced finding cute and well-made clothes for him. I always enjoyed dressing Louie up for holidays but found that the dog clothing market was saturated with poorly made, synthetic clothes with impersonal, mass-produced designs. After running into this problem one too many times, I remembered something my Grandmom, who taught me embroidery, used to say: “You could make that!” So, I did. I hand-embroidered a shirt for Louie for St. Patrick’s Day that received so many compliments that I started thinking, maybe other people want better clothing options for their pets, too. From this, the idea for the Loubou brand was born.

The name Loubou combines Louie and boutique, a tribute to the dog who inspired the brand and a nod to our focus on thoughtful, boutique-quality design. We create embroidered clothing and accessories that blend comfort, durability, and style while embracing mindful manufacturing practices that reflect our commitment to environmental sustainability.

Over the past two years, I’ve spent my free time learning everything I can about embroidery and design while creating and refining ideas for pet clothing, as well as expanding my ideas to kids’ clothing and accessories. Today, Loubou is ready to grow from a passion project into a full-time brand.
